Viola e Batuque brings together multi-instrumentalist and composer Marcos Assunção, from Mato Grosso do Sul, and Bahian percussionist Marco Lobo in a dialogue between strings and percussion. The viola caipira and seven-string guitar meet the berimbau, pandeiro and a wide range of traditional instruments and experimental sounds.

The concert draws on the artists’ self-titled album, released in 2023. Its repertoire connects Brazilian regional music with choro, bossa nova, jazz and classical influences, combining tradition, improvisation and sonic exploration in a distinctly Brazilian instrumental performance.
