Batuque Canario is a collective project developed by La Laguna’s Guillermo González Municipal Music School. It grew out of a series of workshops that brought together around seventy participants from different generations, including children, young people, adults and families.

The ensemble transforms Brazilian percussion into a shared experience of learning, listening and participation. Drums, hand percussion and voices come together through samba and other Brazilian-rooted rhythms, bringing an energetic and inclusive community performance to Plaza del Adelantado.
