KADIJA TELES & LETICIA MALVARES

30/10/2025 – Teatro Circo Marte – Santa Cruz de La Palma
Brazilian musicians Kadija Teles (pianist) and Leticia Malvares (flautist) form an instrumental duo distinguished by delicacy, expressive depth, and a strong connection to Brazil’s musical traditions. Through piano and flute, they create an intimate and sophisticated sonic space where Brazilian popular music, jazz, chamber music, and Afro-Atlantic influences converge.
Both artists have solid academic backgrounds and careers linked to contemporary projects rooted in popular music. Their repertoire blends original compositions with fresh arrangements of Brazilian composers — from Heitor Villa-Lobos to Hermeto Pascoal — interpreted with sensitivity, technical mastery, and creative freedom.
Kadija Teles’s piano provides a rich, enveloping harmonic foundation, capable of sustaining and dialoguing with the flute with both precision and lyricism. Her playing reveals classical discipline infused with a popular touch. Leticia Malvares’s flute, in turn, unfolds fluid and expressive melodies, with phrasing that moves between the lyrical and the rhythmic, evoking the sounds of both deep-rooted and contemporary Brazil.
