CAMILA MASISO

28/10/2025 – Casa de Colón – Las Palmas de Gran Canaria
Camila Masiso is a singer, songwriter, and researcher of the Brazilian voice. Born in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, and currently based in Lisbon, her artistic journey is shaped by contrasts and complexities: the energy of carnival and the introspection of Bethânia, the forró of the accordion and the jazz of the piano, the potiguar accent and the Afro-diasporic sounds that resonate around the world.
Camila sings and summons. Her songs weave tradition and invention, body and memory, celebration and deep listening. With two original albums —Boas Novas (2011) and Patuá (2015)— and performances in France, Austria, Italy, the United States, and Portugal, she has been consolidating a singular musical identity: a Brazil that pulses, moves, and reinvents itself.
In 2019, she won the Smooth FM Jazz Contest and, in early 2020, presented her show of original compositions at the Grand Auditorium of the Centro Cultural de Belém in Lisbon. That process —filtering memories, sounds, and emotions to retain only what was essential— marked the beginning of a new cycle: more authorial, freer, more essential.
Since then, she has released the singles De Vez, Rara (2021), Incenso (2022, with Gabriel Souto), and Gratidão (2023, featuring Tekilla, produced and filmed by Sam the Kid), works that reflect different stages of an immersive creative process, from poetic excavation to the opening of new paths.
In 2025, Camila presents ARRUDEIO, a show that celebrates this journey and gives shape to her third original album. It is a performance that reconnects past and future, tradition and contemporary language, body and territory, featuring the special participation of Khrystal. Arrudeio is a tapestry of songs that vibrate like prayer, breath, and sea breeze.
Between samba circles with Brazilian women in Lisbon, jazz and vocal performance studies at the University of Évora, and the transformative experience of motherhood, Camila has built an artistic presence that is, at the same time, a living question: how to honor the roots and rediscover new seas? She answers with music, with her whole body, with a voice that ignites. Her songs are quilts stitched with lace, rhythms, and affections — each thread carrying the scent of the Northeast, the texture of memory, and the shine of a future woven by hand.
