Aninha Paschoal, or Cutia (vocals and percussion) and Kadija Teles (piano and vocals) are two Brazilian musicians based in Spain, where they meet and discover the same passion that is nourished by Brazilian rhythms such as baião, xaxado, coco, samba and bossa-nova. From this encounter, the idea arose to explore the ‘percussiveness’ and rhythm of the great classics of Brazilian music through a different interpretative conception, which includes African rhythms and spontaneous and creative arrangements. The result is a repertoire performed with voices, percussion and piano, which invites the audience to a true journey through Brazilian popular music with sensitivity, rhythm, improvisation and many colours and flavours.
